Dr. Kathleen Kwan Katipunan is the founder and director of Barrie Medical and Cosmetic Dermatology. A board-certified dermatologist in Canada, she is also a member of the Canadian Dermatology Association, the European Academy of Dermatology and Venerology and the American Academy of Dermatology.
She trained as a dermatologist in the Philippines before moving to Canada, participating in a fellowship at the Cosmetic and Laser Surgery Institute of Dermatology in Bangkok, Thailand. Recognizing the unique skin needs of Canadians, she retrained in dermatology at the University of Toronto and successfully graduated in 2017. She is uniquely qualified to care for the skin of any person from any ethnic background.
Dr. Katipunan is a strong advocate for patient and physician education. As an adjunct clinical academic lecturer at the University of Toronto, she devotes time to teaching dermatology to nurses, medical students and resident doctors.
As a supporter of the Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre Skin Cancer Clinic, she screens patients for different kinds of skin malignancies. She regularly participates in community service, educating the public about the importance of sun safety, as well as the early detection and treatment of skin cancer.
Dr. Katipunan provides care for patients with a full range of skin disorders, for the young and old alike.
Dr. Katipunan is an advanced cosmetic injector and has a wealth of knowledge in LASERs, aesthetic devices, and skin care products.
For the last few years, she has been developing and collecting modern techniques and advanced skin treatments. Now, she is ready to share them with her patients.
Her main goal is to bring harmony to patients’ lives with sophisticated technologies that produce pleasing, natural-looking outcomes.
Dr. Lukas Kieswetter is a pediatrician specializing in dermatology. He completed his pediatrics training at McMaster University, followed by a 2-year fellowship in Pediatric Dermatology at the Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto. Since then, he has dedicated himself to community patient services and enjoys a diverse practice in infant, childhood and adolescent dermatology.
He is committed to bringing excellent, comprehensive care to patients with a wide range of skin, hair and nail conditions such as:

· Acne and related conditions
· Hemangiomas and other vascular anomalies
· Changes in skin pigmentation
· Psoriasis and related conditions
